Sûr, on reviendra.

A very friendly B&B, Micheline went out of her way to make us feel at home. She is very easy to talk to, especially as she speaks fluent English. The metro is less than a 10 minute walk away, then a quick train ride into the centre of Paris. Cheaper & more pleasant than staying in the centre of Paris. Would definitely stay there again.

After all the hustle and bustle of our wedding, stepping into the courtyard of La Guriniere was like stepping into another world. Micheline's beautiful garden, the adorable country-house feel of the guest-house, the exposed stone wall of the "yellow room", it was exactly what we wanted.
We spent 4 nights in Paris before heading off to Amsterdam and then Jamaica, and while some of our other accommodation was grander and more luxurious, La Guriniere was cute, cozy and warm: everything you want for your first few days (and nights) of married life. The b&b is just outside of Paris itself, but if you like to walk, you don't even need to take the metro. It's 3.5 km to Montparnasse with shopping, movies, retaurants and more; and only 6km to the centre of Paris. If you do want to save your energy, the metro is minutes away, and the town of Malakoff is a cute destination of its own.
The breakfasts were great (fresh bread and pastries, delicious coffee and juice), our hostess was welcoming and helpful, and I challenge anyone to find the same quality for the price in a traditional hotel.
I can't wait to go back. Maybe a 1-year anniversary?

I stayed here for two nights during the week. Very easy to check-in. The owner is a sweetheart and is willing to help you. She can communicate in English.
The room and the bathroom are larger than ones I have seen in budget hotels. i stayed in the upstairs green room.
The are a few restaurants open at night in Malakoff. It is a nice little area and I felt safe walking the streets. I ordered Coq au vin in one of them. He brought it out and I thought it was beef. Okay, I am not a foodie. The sauce was dark .The meat was dark and it looked like beef to me as I ate it..so I asked the waiter about it. He said it was Coq. A very nice man peeked around the corner and told me it was a hen not a chicken and it was also dark because of the wine..but yes I had gotten the right thing. When I left I thanked him and laughed and said the guy would have story to tell about the dumb American. When I went to Spring by Daniel Rose and had New Guinea Hen I didn't ask if it was beef ;-)
Yes, the floors squeak but that is common. I am staying in Truffaut's apartment right now in Paris and you get the floors that squeak. You can hear the kid upstairs as he walks around. This is just something you have to expect in Paris.
La Guriniere is a great place to stay to to ease your budget while visiting an expensive city. You use line 13 and it is easy. Just be sure you turn to the Malakoff side when you go to the street instead of the Vanves side. Somehow I went the wrong way and no one had heard of the streets I needed even though it was just on the other side of the metro. There is a place to park your car inside the gated garden. She charges extra for that since she has to have a garage for her car. Someone came in with a car while I was leaving and seemed to have no problem getting it into the area.
I can recommend this place...and I liked staying out in the suburb but being close to Line 13.
